Located at 45 Uramachi in the charming town of Takayama, Cafe Crepe is a delightful hideaway for those looking to indulge in sweet and savory crepes amidst a cozy setting that feels like stepping into a scene from a Studio Ghibli film. This quaint cafe offers an enticing variety of crepes, each crafted with care to ensure an exceptional dining experience.

The moment you walk into Cafe Crepe, you're greeted by an inviting atmosphere that exudes warmth and charm. Soft lighting, rustic decor, and the tantalizing aroma of freshly made crepes envelop you, making it an ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring Takayama. The quaint ambiance is complemented by staff members who are not only friendly but also knowledgeable about local attractions and recommendations, enhancing your visit from start to finish.

Guests rave about their culinary experiences at Cafe Crepe, with many highlighting the generous portion sizes and delightful flavors. Maggie O'Donnell, a delighted customer, shared her joy in discovering this hidden gem, emphasizing that both crepes she tried were “exceptional” and “exceeded expectations.” The sweet touch of grapes served alongside each dish adds to the overall experience, elevating what might seem simple into something truly memorable.

One of the most compelling attributes of Cafe Crepe is its ability to transport you away from Takayama. As Lucas K. described, dining here feels like being whisked away to a magical cafe, where every bite of their delicious crepes takes you deeper into culinary bliss. Reilly O'Hara echoed this sentiment, dreaming of the delectable veggie and cheese crepe long after her visit—evidence that these creations leave a lasting impression.

For those visiting during the winter months, don’t miss out on trying the Zenzai, a delightful sweet red bean soup, which brings a seasonal touch to the menu that locals have come to love. The cozy environment combined with delightful offerings, including both sweet and savory crepes, makes Cafe Crepe a must-visit spot in Takayama.

While it may be slightly tucked away, Gareth Brown’s review captures the essence perfectly: “A slightly hidden surprise” that is well worth the search. With an inviting atmosphere and exceptional service, Cafe Crepe is more than just a dining destination; it's a cherished experience that you will carry with you long after leaving.

We stumbled upon this place today and, gosh, I am so glad we did! What a lovely, cozy, and delicious little gem of a shop. Both crepes were exceptional, generous in portion sizes, and exceeded our expectations. Also came with tasty grapes! Staff was so sweet. Highly recommend!

A slightly hidden surprise. The crepes were delicious and we found the building and inside to be incredibly cosy. It wasn’t too obvious to us when walking past that it was open (maybe an extra sign outside may help), but we were very happy we went in. The staff were also wonderful at sharing local recommendations.

Delicious crepes, great price, charming atmosphere - as if I'm transported from Takayama to a Cafe in a Ghibli Movie.

Such a nice little cafe ran by a very nice old Japanese couple. The food is very nice and decently priced, and the atmosphere is calming.
